Jewellery Care

To be sure your diamonds always sparkle, it is important to clean them periodically. Here are some recommended methods.

Professional Cleaning
This is the best option, as it is important to have your jewellery checked by a qualified jeweller occasionally to make sure the diamonds are secure.

Mild Liquid Detergent
Soak your diamond jewellery in a solution of warm water and any mild liquid detergent. Using a soft toothbrush, gently brush the jewellery. Be sure to rinse your jewellery with warm water and then dry each piece with a dry, lint-free cloth.

Household Ammonia
Soak your diamond jewellery for thirty minutes in a half-and-half solution of ammonia and cold water. Remove the jewellery from the solution and gently clean the piece with a small soft brush. Swish the piece in the ammonia-water solution again and then rinse and dry.

Gemstone Care
Although most transparent coloured gemstones can be cleaned with lukewarm water and mild liquid detergent, it is very important to have professional clean jewellery set with coloured gemstones. Some helpful tips for cleaning coloured gemstones would be to only use liquid soaps that are non-abrasive, lukewarm water and a very soft toothbrush or hands. Gently apply soap with your hands and rinse repeatedly using consistent lukewarm water. Avoid drastic temperature changes as it may cause certain gemstones such as opals to crack. To dry, use a lint-free cloth.
